First Thai Food @ 23 Purvis Street

Always exploring new places for lunch with my colleagues. Thanks to matt's private transport, we can go to further places for lunch. It was a crowded coffeeshop and greeted us was the pricking smell of tom yum soup and pineapple rice. Yum. I salivate at the thought of the sourish soup.

Maybe we were really hungry, we felt like ordering everything on the menu. In the end...we over ordered. The tom yum soup was too huge as we thought too highly of ourselves and ordered a large one. It was served in a HUGE bowl. Ah ma quickly distributed the soup and ingredients so that we would not waste the food. haha. smart move. Anyways, I like the food there. Tasty and reasonably priced. Good for large groups as there're a variety of dishes to share.

~ fried kangkong~
~ phat thai. My fave thai noodles...!~

~ I had craving for green curry...so we ordered~

~ mango salad which was a perfect appetiser as it made us more hungry...~

~ olive rice...yummy. I like olives in any form except the original black full form~

Pontini @ Grand Copthorne Waterfront

A high class fine dining place which I will not step into if on my own.. or with my friends. I love chomp chomp. Was a treat by boss and so there we were. Typical signs of fine dining... huge plates, little food, elaborate food decor and presentation. Definitely not for a hungry man. But it was interesting.

~ dessert sorbet.. Okay only...~

~ the warm cho cake was good. but think I can get similar standard at bakerzin at half the price~

~ king prawn linguine which didn't wow my colleague a bit.. she was expressionless when partaking her food.Tried it and it tasted worse than pasta cafe~

~ some pork fillet..the amazing thing is how they roll the pork into a swissroll and secure it in that shape. not very nice according to the person who ordered it. ~

~ Cod fillet with garlic air. yes, garlic AIR. The foamy stuff actually tasted like garlic. But I was quite put off coz it looked like stuff from my washing machine. The fish was okay..better than the pork according to my colleague.

good pests and bad pests.

Met up with putri and gang for dinner. It was nice catching up and it's been awhile since we last met. Ever since we scrapped the idea of buying each other birthday gifts coz we thought it's pretty meaningless just taking turns to receive shopping vouchers, it gave us lesser reason to meet up to pass each other birthday gifts. That's bad. So we agreed today.

We shall take turns to organise activities! Yep. For a large group, activities are more engaging whereas for just 2 pax, I usually don't mind a simple dinner or just hang out at a coffee joint.

Next up, JY shall organise a bowling session. YES! and me and putri shall plan badminton sessions at hg. heh. meet up and workout all at once. perfect combi.

JY. we are waiting k. ahem.

Speaking of which reminds me of an aqaintance, a good friend's friend, whom I'm totally disgusted with. Always active on facebook, posting various paragraph long statuses about herself and what she's been up with. Thinking she'll be savvy enough to help me contact some people whom she knows and I left a private message, a paragraph long message explaining my intentions with details of my request and also to invite her to the event. I left my contact number for her so that she can help me get in touch with those people I'm looking for and I'm VERY SURE she knows them.

Her reply was prompt but disappointing. "hey im not coming back at the time leh. paiseh hv to skip me". That's it. Can't be that she only read the 1st line and omitted totally from her sight, 5 other important lines of information.

So what if she's funny. This just proved me right about my initial gut feeling about her. The true colors of a self-centred soul and an attention seeker unveiled. eeeks. Less of such people on earth pls.

With that thought came another. An insane packed week ahead. It's difficult not to grumble about it even though I know that it'll zoom past...which is good in a way indicating that weekend is near.

Just praying hard that the irritant will lie low and not add fuel to fire. Pests are not allowed in mochi's world.

what's playing in my nano now...

Last Night on Earth - Green Day

I text a postcard, sent to you
Did it go through?
Sending all my love to you
You are the moonlight of my life every night
Giving all my love to you
My beating heart belongs to you
I walked for miles 'til i found you
I'm here to honor you
If i lose everything in the fire
I'm sending all my love to you

With every breath that i am worth
Here on earth
I'm sending all my love to you
So if you dare to second guess
You can rest assure
That all my love's for you

My beating heart belongs to you
I walked for miles 'til i found you
I'm here to honor you
If i lose everything in the fire
I'm sending all my love to you

My beating heart belongs to you
I walked for miles 'til i found you
I'm here to honor you
If i lose everything in the fire
I'm sending all my love to you

Nirvana moment

I picked up a copy of new paper amidst the stack of wan bao. It actually felt like Undefined Foreign Object to me. I've not given these UFOs attention for the past...months. Even lost count of how many months. MANY.

The weird thing is that I don't feel really disconnected with the world. I do my little things and do the usual things I do. Life goes on. I feel fine. The most impact I felt was how my colleagues stared at me dumbfounded for not being updated with the latest Geylang rojak posioning case. But I'm okay. Ego not busted a single weeny bit. Tell me more la. This is an easy way to make mochi conversation with me! heh.

I'm so dam busy at work. but better than no work I tell myself. who says public service is shake leg job ah. pls erase this horrible notion from your brain repository! a gazillion things to do with that pathetic 24hrs of time. crazy if i can finish lor.

That's why I got no time for UFO. YA! that's the reason why.

Caught Angels n Demons. Haven't been to the cinemas for 3 mths or so? Been watching movies but at the comfort of my home. I'm really bad at this kind of cheem cheem shows. I enjoyed the movie though. Plot was tight and the show kept me on the edge of my seat! Ewan was so handsome... which sadly, I only realised he was ewan at the end of the show. dam.

The most exciting part has to be the nirvana moment when ES retold the whole story to me.

Ahhh...so desu ka. Wakatta!

manhatten fish market..superb service

ES brought me to Manhantten for an early bday celebration. There's this lobster set promo so it was like $40 for 2 lobster sets! yummmy. I really deserve a good meal as I'm so super dupa stressed up at work. Eating is the best way to destress! Come on and pile on those calories! I don't cAre. We got a nice seat overlooking Clarke Quay. It was a good meal with really good service from the staff. Lovely experience. Wasted that I didn't bring my camera along..sucky pics. Think I'm spoilt already. Will just keep cursing everytime I look at those grainy pics from hp. pardon me. sumimasen.

~ ES is my designated prawn, crayfish, lobster peeler. More like he can't tahan the way I jab, dig into and try to yank out the flesh of the poor lobster.~

~ couldn't resist the temptation of ordering the flaming prawns. The flaming sauce really made the prawns yummy. We licked every drop off the pan. haha~

ramblings from a tired mochi

I'll probably disappear into the atmosphere from Mon onwards. You might even get the chance to breathe in some of me.

You might not even recognise me if you meet me. I've got breakouts, painful sore gums from ulcers, flabby stomach coz not getting much exercise, dehydrated skin, a few nights of disturbed sleep, 1 night of insomnia, downing cups of caffeine in the day, eating loads of junk food for lunch, missing a few dinners.

Busy I might be, I've not lost the enthusiasm to do the stuff I want to do. I still look forward to doing them and I'm sure I'll eliminate them from my to-do list soon. like soon. I'm cancelling my vietnam trip and hopefully sharon san can pay me back.... *huff puff* and I wanna use the money to go somewhere else..china maybe, with rickson as the local guide. should be fun. I want it to be a totally photo taking trip, just me, my camera and breathtaking scenery surrounding me.

That's good i guess. Still maintaining bits of sanity and enjoying the little leisures in life.

Got a few bags recently, 1 was a gift to myself, the rest were with loves from my koibito and oppit buddy. Thanks to everyone for your wishes and thoughtful prezzies. arigatou gozaimasu!

Time is the best friend of an EMO

I can never give my comments or remarks as an objective 3rd party. Unlike most emotional people who will insist they are rational, I confess proudly that I'm E.M.O.

I refuse to speak coz I know my tone will hurt you. I'd rather speak less. I'm sarcastic I know so I'll avoid communication for the moment. I refuse to empathise coz my own judgement and mochi values tend to give me a bias point of view. I tell myself I must seek to understand and listen but I can't do it at this point of time.

Time. Time fans out all perspectives so that I'll be able to make my choice more clearly.

HK getaway 1 - 4 May

The short getaway was really short. It was fun though with all the shopping and eating, shopping and eating... We walked till our legs felt like they were somewhere else. Eating was normal due to the sad fact that our stomachs are not expandable. sigh. wished I could eat more! Took like 300 pics and didn't regret bringing my SLR along. Was hesitant coz it weighed a ton and our main aim was to shop!

Well, had a bit of quarantine commotion coz of the kiasee decision of an incapable leader. crazy. will never yield to the evil forces of stupid people. Frankly, just waiting for the time where I can expose the dumb deeds of the evil force...please grant me my wish!

Well, some of the better shots I took! Trigger happy mochi is happy-ING.

~ near St Paul's ruins at macau. Nice portuguese architecture.~

~ a wedding couple having their photoshoot. Perfect angle for my photo!~

~ Gotta thank Matt for her patience while waiting for me to take shots like this. I was virtually lying on the ground. haha only flaw is that woman's head on the trishaw!! I shall clone it away!~

~ the Macau Taipa Birdge when we were reaching macau. This shot was taken from the ferry. Lucky not much glass reflection.~

~ the beautiful Macau Taipa bridge has a really subtle nice curvature. ~

~ swine swine go away.. come again another day.. little children want to play~

~ at the busy night streets of Mong Kok~

~ this apple shop really caught my attention though I think the lightings in HK really waste a lot of electricity?~
gotta go prepare for potluck later! yipppee!
