ramblings before TGIF

Really looking forward to the end of the week.

The sudden relieve from the completion of the assignments, recovery from a sudden gastric or diarhoea attack over the weekend, visitors from the flu planet and this piece of work which required loads of concentration and hours of staring into the computer screen, standardising each and every diagram.

Ya. All of the above had grabbed me, squeezed me, leaving me high and dry. Was that how my sore throat came about?!

A little stupid periodical pmsal quibble with ES and the lack of exercise for the past week. Some surprising news which I shall take positively and pray doubly hard for a good 2010. Some things which you swear and cross your heart you'll never miss, you'll probably miss it the most when it's no longer there. Irony is life.

The above which added on to the stuff above of the above made up an all-time low adrenaline mochi.

Hanging on to the hopes of a brand new week. oh, before that, a restful weekend.

Make the world a better place.

I had this immense urge to post this last night. But alas... was zonked out by class and could only manage cooking indomie for dinner (at 11.30pm) and then healthily... crawling into bed once i reached home. To top it off, I've got a bad throat and runny nose is setting in too. urgh.

We handed up our group assignment for Personality and Abnormal Psychology yesterday and part of the assignment was a presentation of the key points in our paper. The lecturer complimented that our presentation was good and that he learnt alot from it. And if he learnt alot, MEANS WE ARE GOOD. haha. that's what he said! He also liked that we did alot of research to see how Adler's theory can apply to modern society and the relevant examples we cited to back our arguments.

We basked in the short 30 sec of fame and the overspilling sense of achievement from our ego.

I felt exceptionally appreciated and it was a feeling long lost in this cold cold outside world. Human nature is such that people only remember and magnify errors. For the unjust you feel? Sorry, you're paid to take it all in.

Saizeriya @ City Square Mall

Long time no write food review and my fotoshop collage skills also rusted quite abit since I took a bloody long time to arrange these few low resolution pics. 2mp hp sucks. sigh. well, it's a phone.

Anyway, it's so good that I gotta get ES there to try it and he loved it! The italian Jap food is yummy and affordable. With $2.50 extra, you can get free flow of soft drinks and hot drinks like cappucino etc...goodie. Spent a total of $40 per pax. I figured that it's more ex if you order the junkie yummy side dishes to share, just like what we did. Their main courses are big in portion too and pretty cheesy so gals can definitely share.

They have another branch at Liang Court too..which is the pioneer branch. You all gotta try it!! City Square Mall @ Farrer Park has got abundance of good eateries too... you name the cuisine, they have it. I wanna go there for lunch everyday.

~ Tried escargots for the first time in mochi's life..... taste not bad la though the idea of eating it is disgusting.~

A gift of committment

She's super dupa cute! I handpicked her from the lot of hammies and I felt that she looked really smart and her fur was the most silky with a unique symmetrical dark grey line running down her back.

This was hammie whom I interacted with for all of 18hrs. Me and A shared it for Matt's birthday coz matt loves small animals! Essentially, we bought her a committment. haha. But I'm sure she'll be a great pet owner! This would not be a long committment though since hammies maximum lifespan is usually 2 years or a little more. If she's from Jap, probably longer. But she's not. sigh.

Abit sad and reluctant when I had to pass it to matt. Reason being she kept me company while I had gastric pain throughout the night. The pain was so absurd that I could only manage to curl up just like hammie in my bed. I brought the cage onto the bed and we spent almost 2 hours staring romantically at each other. She was way busier though, running up and down her bungalow, running on her wheel, burrowing through the shavings and feasting on her fruits and nuts supper. Hammies are REALLY nocturnal animals..super active at night and sleep dam ALOT in the day.

That was the highlight of my weekend. Shopping for hammie and oh, kite flying. Thanks to the great weather with monster strength wind, we managed to get the kite high up in the sky without much effort. We even ran to the nearest 7-11 to get another roll of string so that we can fly it even higher into the sky.

Fantastic peaceful weekend with the completion of 1 assignment too.

see you offline!

Guy: okay..nice meeting you! See ya soon!
Gal: Ya, nice meeting you! *did an excited victory hand gesture* See ya online!

I was privileged to witness this momentus part of the conversation. It was an odd feeling seeing this right smacked at my face though it is not something uncommon or unusual. I sometimes do end off conversations with a date to chat further on MSN. But witnessing it and doing it are 2 different things. As the chinese saying goes...the people outside of the situation have a better perspective of the issue.

My very first reaction was at how ridiculous the conversation was, how sad we've been reduced to looking forward to connecting with friends in the cold virtual space. While I do agree that I'm also an avid FBooker, MSNetizen and blogger, Sharon san and me still couldn't help but looked at each other totally amused, quipping, " so sad right....HAHA."

Well, I may be wrong. That guy could be an irritating admirer which that gal was trying to ward off.

Whatever it is, it was great meeting up face-to-face with zhe and sharon san today.

Jurny's Journey.

~ see my model-like side profile...~

Babies are so lucky. They sleep regardless of what happens around them. You can pass them around and they can still be soundly snoozing away. One week old Jurny Tan En Qi was just like that. Jo said Jurny is meant to sound like Journey..symbolising the start of her life journey. But journey's spelling is too long n cumbersome and Jurny is really more unique.

Busy weekend and many more busy ones ahead. Assignments due. Work projects due. CNY round the corner. Events upcoming.

Lots of errands need to run but I've simply no time and energy to do them. Grrr. One good thing is I've managed to complete my exercise routine for the week. I have this urge to celebrate with Mac's Mcspicy. Drools. Not after I complete my run this evening...go GO GO!

Btw, Google has this super cool Google distance calculator which I use to calculate my jogging distance. So..my usual route covers approx 5.3km and I usually take about 35mins to complete. Check it out..it's really easy to use!

2010

2009 had its fair share of ups and downs.

Frankly, I didn't even know how the first half of 2009 went by. The only memories etched were those of endless nights of OT and bottomless pit of work. The only event which broke the monotony was the passing on of my beloved grandma. I'm glad that I still dream of her as this seems to be the only connection I have with her now. Her 1st year death anniversary is round the corner and as we prepare for it, I hope the connection strengthens.

The other 2 happy occasions which added some kind of life to my misery was the birth of sean and chean's wedding. I'm so so happy for them.

Travelogues for the year.... HK trip with Matt and Hokkaido with ES. Oh, and batam if that's considered as travelling. haha.

The 2nd half of 2009 marked a small achievement in work and the celebrations buried me in work again. Life got busier when I started my advanced dip in psychology in Sep. Btw, mochi scored A for statistics and B for psychological research modules. Woohoo.

Nov and Dec were great months as the long weekends and leave clearing added on to the festivity. A nice ending to 2009.

I like how the beginning of a new year always harbour lots of hope. Well, hopes might dim as we move through the year....it's normal. It's up to us to make it brighter.

welcome 2010.

~ my $6 kite.....going kite flying tomorrow!!~
