SMAB must meet up soon ya.

Ayu gave me inspiration for this post. Had wanted to blog about it but thanks to my rusty memory, it was tucked nicely, comfortably at the back of my head.

The incident blew up till it came to a point when I thought S.M.A.B would be disbanded. Well, I told myself that it's time to let it all out. Air our grouses or speculations we had to Ahmad. Confront her on some issues which had been bugging SMB but which we did not have the guts to bring up to her.

Lesson 1: Never talk among yourselves. Issues get magnified as everyone starts speculating and concurring with each other.

I thought I'll just 豁出去. My intention was to clarify. As simple as that. The disparity in human characters is unbelieveable. Just a pre-assumption of "I wouldn't do that if I were her lor! so weird right?" will set the mood for gossip.

Oh well, gossip is a general word I allocate to gals' talk. haha. We were "gossiping" coz we aren't sure whether she'll mind us asking her the reasons for what she did. And if things get sensitive, people tend to get emotional. So we held back.

I told Ahmad exactly what we thought and sought her clarifications.

Lesson 2: It's natural to get defensive if it's untrue. Just remember, friends never aim to accuse each other. We try to understand.

It was quite an intense episode as we furiously MSNed. All 4 of us... spoke our minds for the very first time, leaving no room for "benefit of doubt" cases. I felt like a mystery was finally unravelled and we ended off the chat with Ahmad's constant net disconnection.

A perfect script for HK drama.haha.

I was glad that we had a chance to talk like that. It is through such girly, bitchy episodes that we get to know each other people better. Some people just aren't as detail oriented when talking so if you're unsure, ASK, on the spot.

You can be sure we'll be brutally frank with each other now, get angry, quarrel, argue and be chummy again the very next minute.

That's true friendship for you. SMAB 万歳!

reviving my nano mission

It was when I was jogging I realised that my 2GB nano is too small..as in memory space. Songs were repetitive and to my horror, the bulk of my songs in it now are english songs. 华文乐坛要がんばって了喔.

Haven't heard a good chinese album for a long long time. Even Jay is getting boring. The exception would be Mayday. They have a new single! heard it on radio...yipppeeee

Currently invading my nano's memory space are mainly:
  • Mr Jason Mraz
  • Mayday
  • Green Day
  • The Fray
  • Jay Chou
  • Transformers OST
  • The All-American-Rejects
  • McFly
  • Theory of a Deadman (a new band I'm listening to!)

  • A mix of Coldplay, Travis, Maroon 5....

Had a good jog despite the heat. Feel less sluggish. Going SBWR tmw! Sungei Buloh Wetlands Reserve! いきまっしょ!

Michael Jackson, 25 Jun 2009

Heard about the news about Michael Jackson and almost immediately, his life history was splashed across all the papers. They talk about how he didn't have a childhood, how he was abused by his dad, people are still speculating reasons behind his cosmetic surgeries and paedophilia behaviour. But this time round, with more empathy.

Well, it shows that when it comes to the end of your life journey, people only remember...or choose to only remember the good you have done, the parts of your life story that would touch the hearts of many.
Gone is all the bad coverage on how his nose is falling off, his controversial bleaching of his skin and the rumoured captivation of kids in his never never land. Or rather, these have been neutralised by his traumatised childhood.

Not crazy over MJ, some might be neutral but I've never heard of anyone who hates his music.
He left but he was remembered fondly for his music. I believe that the wish of all artistes.

the shit that never saw daylight

Spent a quiet sunday roaming around hg mall by myself. Haven't shopped there in a while coz by the time I knock off, the shops would have all closed. I actually enjoy looking at stuff at my own pace and time. Quite therapeutic..hynoptised by all the array of clothes and shoes on display with the word "sale" plastered everywhere.

I started heading towards the toilet coz I felt the need to shit. On my way, this old lady hijacked me by stuffing a stack of receipts into my palm, instructing me to queue up to exchange some lucky draw thingy for her at the customer service counter. She briefly mentioned she exceeded the quota for the day and needed another person's IC for the redemption. I was like errrr.... eyes still fixated at the shoes at the window display. Fine. I guess that has to wait.

She said she would wait for me at the elevator. I stupidly held back my shit to queue up for her.

Gradually, I found her familiar and recalled that she had asked for my NTUC receipts before sometime ago. I think I've got too charitable look..or rather blur look that makes me easy target for people. sigh. Well, my shit never came after the waiting.

Poor shit.

4 cascading sessions down...2 more to go. ganbatte!!!

Let's all write a will

Complaint of the week:
Get over it. It's over and even if I did contribute to some minor hiccups, it's normal for a person with a certain level of emotional quotient to just turn a blind eye and stop harping on something which no one probably noticed. You cannot expect something spectacular without a glitch when there are last minute arrangements.

Grossed out abit but I'm sure I'll get over it. Sacrifices are needed for a greater purpose as how babu puts it.

Will-writing:
Weekend was spent exercising and spending some time with ES. We swam quite a bit and I'm just back from a jog! sugoi! Too stressed during weekdays to move my butt for anything. besides eating. And oh, ES brought me to this Will Writing Seminar at his club. Yep, ominous huh. haha. But Will Writing is really important. It's pretty interesting to know how unjust the will imposed by the government to a deceased without a will is. That's called an intestate ....will. hahah.. can't remember. That's why we all should have a will.

An interesting point to share. If a couple were to die together in a an accident without wills, how will the law decide who died first? *drum roll*...... They will presume the older spouse died first!! That's mad. Hence, they will distribute the older spouse's estate according to the clauses that his/her spouse is still alive, which can be really unfair. haha. I immediately offered ES a piece of my cake when I heard that. haha. interesting huh.

Buys of the week:
- Honey Dijon Kettle Chips (finally got it! this flavour is always out of stock! everywhere!)
- Post Honey bunches of Oats Strawberry Cereal (I need to use up the milk I bought which is still idling in office for a week now)
- Sphagetti ( hoping to cook my fave aglio olio soon for dinner)
- 5 packs of stayfree overnight cottony soft pads for only 1.95 per pack from guardian! It was a steal.. couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it. I get it for 3.20 a pack usually.
- 2 pairs of black shoes from D&C. yeh yeh..new shoes to wear.
- Yakult to help in my digestion
- Korean maggie noodles
- Pokka packet milk tea. not sure whether it's nice...new flavour!

Managed to run my errand finally too. Dragged myself to sony ericsson to service my hangy phone. They like to call it software upgrade. I can never understand why they can't upgrade the software before they sell the phone to me. So dumb dumb dee dee.

Cancelled my facial again and again. I think 3rd time for the month. They probably blacklisted me. Not me. Pls scold my portfolio k. Simply find it a waste of time to squeeze in crowded orchard, go there lie there for 2 hrs doing nothing. I'd rather slack at home.

With that, the start of another gila week ahead. ganbatte mochi san!
gila pics after a gila week.

Chean's wedding 14 Jun 2009

Weekend was hectic but meaningful. I saw one of my best friend found a man whom she loves and the man who truly loves her. Well, this is like as good as it can get! Congrats Mrs Wee!

I dragged ES to go Chean's place bright and early to catch the Chinese Tea Ceremony. I never want to miss this part of the wedding coz it's like the most symbolic.

Heard chean's mum telling her, “长大了哦。。不可以任性了知道吗?”
She told Khai, “我的女儿交给你了,不可以欺负她啊。”

Such simple words which many might dismiss as naggy and old-fashioned when first heard.

When you pause for a second and think, aren't these the secret wishes of all parents? Firstly, to see them grow up and nurtured into matured and sensible adults. Secondly, the happiness to be able to entrust their kids into the hands of another whom you know will take good care of her/him.

The wedding banquet was just a typical, must-do ritual to inform people that you're married, a format to follow as part of following the laws of social norm.

The solemnisation ceremony at the banquet I thought injected some kind of meaning into the mass eating. Chean cheekily cracked a joke at the point where she had to answer "I Do". She said in Chinese, "我可以考虑一下吗?". Her parents' hearts might have skipped a beat. haha. naughty gal. I'm so happy for you.

cosy cosy

Just managed to make my cube as cosy as my old cube. yippee. Some of my colleagues keep a simple fuss free cube decor and they can actually work in there. Wonder how they do it. I can't. I need to work in a cosy environment to make work less cold. I have put up loads of pics and I think my decor stuff is double my work stuff. ha.

Have not had the chance to take any pics but don't think you'll be interested to see coz it's such a small place. Even I also not interested to take pics. grrr.

So gonna foresee my weekend flying by. Tomorrow is Chean's big day. Feel so excited and nervous for her. I hope I perform my assigned duty well as the slideshow coordinator. haha. Do tons of slides at work as well. Maybe it's really my calling in life.

Gonna catch Ghosts of my Girlfriend's Past later. hope it's good! ooohh.. and Terminator Salvation is so dam cool. Love it.

Ultimate love letter

It's boring to write a love letter in English. Try along the lines of this love oozing poem. A real case scenario of E's guy friend who apparently mesmerised another GUY with his sporty, hunky build. This is what you get for exuding irresistable charm:

您好X大哥。我是XX。很开心昨天晚上和你相识!酷暑来临,送您一个西瓜,翠绿的颜色给您送去一份好心情。红红的瓜瓤甜透您的心,油黑的瓜子播下一片深厚的情,让您享受清凉的每一天!

Brrrrr. I feel cold..where got酷暑。。。

Block 3 to Block 6..sob

2 years of enjoying my breakfast at my table, slumping against the Qoo cushion and just waiting for the day to start.
I'm gonna miss block 3. Though I'm gonna shift to another block in the same campus, I'm still gonna miss it. The office which I've stayed longest at, spending time rotting at the staff corner, pantry, toilets, makan sessions at CDMR.

As I celebrate almost 2 years of my stay in CDD Blk 3, I look forward to a more fun stay at blk 6. Well, actually I think it would be just as fun coz the people are the same. It's the nostalgia that's invading me and a whole pack of practical reasons like the spacious cube and the prime proximity, 3 min walk from the MRT station.
