Good Ole Chomp Chomp & IceCube aka ICE3

as u can tell, i will really become a mochi soon. I mean shape of a mochi. been eating too much recently...again. There's a chinese saying which i always console myself after the binge.. Can eat is fortune aka..neng chi shi fu. yep. heck la...just whack...whole of chomp chomp!

met up with the south african gang for dinner. the hokkien mee tasted extremely good. for those who not experienced, only order the Ah Hock Hokkien mee right at the end of the right row of stalls. The Q is long but definitely worth the wait. They hokkien mee they serve is those with bee hoon more than the yellow mee.. so it's real oishii. Sweet potato leaves is a must -order dish there too. Would recommend "Lucy" for the BBQ food.

Dessert was at Ice3. nice cosy (??!) place to ease that sweet tooth after dinner. We ordered a cookies and cream mudpie... 4 of us only ordered 1 mudpie. amazing. but spreading out fats is food. heh.

On our way back, we heard soft whinings and peeped into a box which contained 4 cute newly born pups!! a couple with a pet-shop owner..err..we guessed la..not sure who he is but he had like all the equipment and was teaching the couple how to take care of these pups. their eyes were still closed and their umblical cord was still attached. heard from the couple they found the pups abandoned in a camp and 4 other pups were already dead when they found it.

Never seen newly born pups in my life before!!! They're so cute..!!! I want one too.

Fly with the Singapore Flyer ~

Woah... lemme breathe a little.. my 3rd post in a span of 1 hour. Sigh..Blogger should really upgrade their site... it's so bloody difficult to blog, post multiple pics and arrange them in the small typing screen of blogger. Pls pls improve. onegai.!

back to the topic.

Been wanting to take the flyer on a weekday coz mochi hates the crowd. Finally tried it yesterday with a good ticket price of $16.50 per tic. If you hold an NTUC Union card, you can purchase the tics at the NTUC Customer Service Counter. The promo is only for day trips from 10am - 6pm only daily till end of Dec 08. One card can book up to max 6 tickets.

The weather cleared up for us and the slight drizzle ceased after our lunch at Popeyes. Yeah!

mochi took too many pics at the Singapore Flyer...... so here's a collage to sum it all.

Shangri-la - The Line

Went for the reknowned and most talked about buffet at Shangri-la - The Line. Colleagues said until like it's a once in a lifetime must try. So happened that we held one of our company functions at this place.... so...despite my time-off, I went back to join everyone for the dinner. hahaha. well, it's paid for so might as well make use of this chance to eat a meal which I would not otherwise fork out $100 for. Yep. it's like $80++ per pax. madness.
The variety is crazy. Dim Sum, Jap Food, Indian, Local, Western, cold dishes, Chinese food, Raw dishes. The raw stuff are really fresh. Though I don't eat raw food, my colleagues who super attacked the oysters, really liked it. Enough said, come on la. It's Shang.
Oh, my fave was the satay...and the satay gravy.. (-_-) Lousy mochi san...you should have just stayed at home!!
If someone owes u a treat, this is a great place to ka3 the person...
~sinful must-tries...~
~ I didn't try this but looks rich enuff huh..haha. I feel full just looking at it. ~

~ thought the ice-cream tasted nice and refreshing with all the fruitty flavours...~

~5 star setting..~

~ lousy pic with my hp camera... sighz.. my camera went out batt after my Singapore Flyer Trip...hahaha~

Steamboat @ SunSet Way

Babu's tian mimi's fave steamboat. so.. we took a drive to sunset way @ clementi, trudged through the pitter patter raindrops, in search for this steamboat. yep. me and ahmad still prefer the roxy square steamboat for the soup base but this one win hands down for the variety.

It's $28 for a variety of cooked, raw food.
  • Raw steamboat ingredients include crabs, scallops, crayfish, salmon sashimi, prawns and the usual chicken and beef and lots more.
  • Cooked food includes sushi, handrolls, ebi tempura, mushroom tempura, crispy chicken and more...
  • not forgetting desserts like ice-cream and my fave yam paste! If you want to BBQ, you must take the alfresco seats. The aircon seats only permits steamboaters. It's worth a try if you are a buffeteer and if you're around the area......
  • remember to drop by The Daily Scoop for their yummy ice-cream too! Highly recommend their Avocado Ice-cream. The parlour is somewhat further in near sunset way's cold storage. Not in the same area as the steamboat.

~our professional pengkang satay man... arigato ne...he's good! thumbs up! suggest to team up with ES to pengkang for the girls.... puuuurrrrfect. haha.~

~babu enjoying her food...a rare sight since she's super dieting for her ROM now..~

~ahmad... forever enjoying her food.. cheese!~

~we popped over to zhen fa live seafood...and found this huge fish..after much description to ES, with his rich animal planet knowledge, these huge monsters are garoupas!! impossible!! how it they be! well, according to the animal planeteer, these fishes can grow up to XXX cm... can't remember the exact figures.. not my forte la.. heh.~

~ wondering how tough the meat will be...eeeks.~

another shiok song for KTV!!

OPEN
啦啦啦~
我是 open chan 快乐的一天
跟你一起 OPEN! 喔喔喔喔!
我是 open chan 快乐的一天
彩虹长在头上! 喔喔喔喔!

Hitler and ERP woes

relax and enjoy.... been circulating quite abit..though i still support ERP. It forces you to think before you travel..provides alternative and makes you exercise.

Public transport is the best ppl... that's where we must head towards with increasing population and limited land space. 12% of Singapore is occupied by roads..compared to 15% for housing...it's dam alot.

Malacca Trip 16-17 Aug 2008

Been busy since I returned from Malacca. Urghz. Everything seems to happen all at the same time. doshite. mochi san will get thru this!! ganbarimassho!!

40 crazy pple set off from HSO. one of the biggest tour group i've ever gone with! Thanks to my department who organised this trip.. I paid only 90 bucks as staff.. and it's 140 for family n friends. it's so cheap for a stay in Malacca Holiday Inn.

The trip started off me going totally gaga over little louis, my colleague's kid. he's so cheeky!! posing so readily in different positions when he saw us shooting him...potential air steward.

Interesting jonk at Jonker street... Jonk means junk in Dutch. Malacca was previously a dutch colony? British colony.?? sorry..my history fail..hahaha... zhen jie! correct me..my first answer is dutch!~

start of olympics 2008

going ahmad's place for a swim later and than indulge in our fave roxy steamboat. yep. we look like casts of some HK drama where they'll always eat steamboat in gatherings.

switched to olympics channel last night and watched the womens' volleyball, USA vs Japan. the angmohs were strong in their strikes and being smaller in built, nihonjin can only win by skills and tactics. I was very impressed by japs' defence. The way they went all out to save the ball, sprawling all over the floor at the end of each save. amazing. and they dun get hurt when they fall. always wonder how they do that.

They lost but I think it was a graceful exit.

Sakunthala Palace..ah long's treat!

must be the first time hearing ah long giving a treat. yeah...he did! nice ah long la. heh. He chose to go Sakunthala located at Race Course Rd as ah long loves indian food. compared to banana leaf and muthu's curry, it's really quite good but definitely not for those on a diet.

~itadakimasu!~ ~ a rare scene.. yummy food neh. ah lian tucking into the gobi dish..think it's some fried brocoli.. my fave indian dish..~ ~ the curry fish head gravy was of the right texture. I was almost drinking it like soup.. ~ ~ love the small side dishes.. more pls. except I was too full from the old chang kee curry puff and popiah from my breakfast..~

attended body combat at California fitness with my colleagues using the UOB card privilege. first time in 4 years since I had the card. hah.. it's really a heart pumping workout. the crowd was super onz...doing the "har! hur!! " with every kick and punch. i was shocked. the kickboxing classi attended at SSC, the people were more reserved..the most we could manage was a giggle when we find that the moves were funny when executed by us.

The instructor was a commando. shout and shout though we really had a good workout. still prefer juliana who incorporates fun and variety into the kickboxing. maybe I should sign up again. My body is aching like mad. really aching like mad. can't lift up my arms and my shoulder ache is 10 times worse now. sigh. abit inmobile now.

shall just slack and watch tv today. that's the most I can do in this condition.

Count on me Singapore!!! happy NatiOnal Day mina san!
