today...CNY seemed so near yet so far

16 Feb 2007 is finally over. i can thus r.i.p.

okay..touch wood! it's cny! gong hei gong hei!

ya man..but from the bottom of my broken heart, i was seriously begging for this day to end.

kena saboed to organise the CNY program for my school and being a greenhorn at it, i was confused. no..i think confused is an understatement. i have nothing to begin with to be confused about. see. clueless might be better? ANYWAY.

A few hiccups today:
* just half hour before the show, we smelled a burning smell and spotted smoke coming out from one of the hall's speakers.. evacuated the kids. super choking! i thoght it was about to explode lor.. we concluded it was to go with out cny theme..firecrackers ma.

* music for the chinese dance troupe was too soft and the AV boys in the control room can't seem to get my signal to up the volume. though they finally got it eventually.

*one of the mics for the student emcees suddenly malfunctioned to the volume of a ant's squeak... no one could hear. ended up the 1 hosts gotta share mics.

*the "da tou wa wa throwing sweets to the kids" performance was cancelled in the 2nd session coz the 2 poor wa wa were mobbed by the lower primary kids..at one point, they suddenly disappeared from my sight coz the kids were tugging at their masks.. with the escort of a chinese teacher, they had to scramble out of the hall and take hiding in the canteen.

well, other stuff i can remember would be loads of scurrying up and down the stage, across the hall and back and forth the staffroom.

hungry till cmi.. went to the canteen and the auntie had her food display shelf stacked with mandarin oranges..yes. she closed at 2pm!! W.T.H. i'm hungry!
another auntie could only offer me char kway tiao. okay la...anything...anything.

stayed on till 3.30pm before ferrying greenhouse pupils to serangoon stadium for their sports day training. madhouse till 6pm when we were released...finally. wanted to finish my marking actually but another teacher started switching off all the lights to hurry the few teachers who were busy marking to go home...haha. quite funny.

yup.. and i reached home, grabbed the 1st piece of bak kwa i saw and ate..munch..swallowed.

drank my suicidal cup of tehC at 10pm..i can probably stay awake and blog till 2am man..
