Day3 - HongKong Extravaganza 2008 - Finale

Day 3 – 20 July 2008

Woke up bright and early for Lantau Island trip. It was lucky we chose to go early in the morning as the crowd was unbelievable on our way back from lantau.

Enjoyed a scenic cable car ride at Ngong Ping 360 to the Giant Buddha and Po Lin Monastry. Weather was hot but good for outdoor activities.

Ticket Price: HKD 98 (Sundays) HKD 88 (other days)

Arrived at the Giant Buddha and it really takes some stamina to conquer the steps leading up to the Giant Buddha. Ahmad is always MIA coz she’s always like a few flights below us and panting. Haha.

We bought meal tickets for the vegetarian lunch served at the Po Lin Monastry.

Price: HKD 60 = SGD 10

The spread was good and healthy but only for vege lovers ya. Heh.

Headed back to the hotel where we had tea break at one of the cafes. Yummy Po Luo Bao and super yummy pork fillet burger. Simple, cheap and so yummy! I want more of such food in Singapore…

Okay..the pic doesn’t do the burger justice. Coz I was too eager and hungry. Took a huge bite into the burger then remembered I wanted to take a pic.

Headed back to hotel where we waited for the free shuttle service to Kowloon train station for the airport express. As I mentioned earlier, we spent right up to the last dollar. We gathered all the notes we had left and it was JUST NICE HKD 190 for 3 train tics!! Phew. We can go home!

~冲上云霄~

With the pathetic coins we had, we bought 1 Po Luo Bun at the airport which is still lying in my fridge now. Whahaha.

As if our trip wasn’t dramatic and happening enough, maria had a bronchitis attack on the plane and she had left her medication in her chked in luggage. Best right. Really maria. Crew had to give her oxygen till landing in Singapore before the doc came on board to chk on her.

What a way to end our trip huh.

Hope you’re getting better maria. Life has to go on k. It’s not the end of the world. I think we’ve said our piece, actually more than we should say. It’s all up to you how you want to make out of this whole thing, positive or negative. Take your pick.

3 cheers to the 3 crazy women who roamed HK 3 days 2 nights with SGD300!!
